In this polymer clay tutorial I explain how to make faux cloisonne brooches with metal leaf inlays. You will learn how to make a polymer clay brooch in any shape, how to decorate it with metal leaf, wire, and mica powders, how to attach the closure to its back, and how to give it a beautiful smooth and shiny finish with resin. Bonus material includes instructions for obtaining mica powders in custom colors and for coloring metal leaf with alcohol inks. I also included a few sketches of faux cloisonne brooches with metal leaf inlays which you are welcome to use in your work.
